OUTDOOR GYM – TRAINING OUTSIDE
The fitness studios have been closed for several months due to the pandemic. Most of the members now notice that regular training in the gym has a much higher priority in their lives than they would have thought. Training in the outdoor gym offers an alternative.

Many people have no choice but to look for alternative training options outdoors. But extensive fitness training cannot simply be replaced by a run in the forest.

Muscle parts that are weakened from sitting too much must be specifically addressed through strength training. Muscular complaints can often be compensated for by regular strength training. However, they occur more frequently again during the pandemic.

TRAINING IN CLOSED ROOMS
Fitness training traditionally takes place in closed rooms. That became doomed with the beginning of the pandemic. Because the risk of infection with the coronavirus via aerosols is demonstrably higher in closed rooms.

Always depending on how big the room is or how many people are in it at the same time and of course a careful hygiene concept can prevent a lot. However, fitness training, which actually contributes a large part to people’s health, has been banned across the board.

OUTDOOR TRAINING PROVIDES MANY ADVANTAGES
Training outdoors, in the so-called outdoor gym, is a possible alternative to keep training operations going. The risk of infection in the fresh air is significantly lower if the hygiene rules are adhered to. It also allows risk groups to resume training.

Regardless of the pandemic, there are many benefits to exercising outdoors.
Sun rays and fresh air lift the mood and increase motivation during training. In addition, vitamin D production is boosted.

Stale training stink does not exist outside and the noise generated by weights and conversations is not comparable to that in a closed room.

TRAINING EVEN IN BAD WEATHER
Training outdoors is also possible and recommended in cooler temperatures. Of course, the duration and intensity must be adapted to the weather conditions.

A short and crisp HIIT training at low temperatures, for example, really stimulates the circulation and additionally strengthens the immune system.

INDOOR | OUTDOOR – WHY BOTH ARE IMPORTANT
An outdoor gym cannot replace the classic fitness studio with all its possibilities and training variants. However, it can be a very useful addition, especially in times of pandemic.

A well-placed training area outdoors is also a real eye-catcher that certainly attracts more attention than any flag or large poster.

WHERE CAN AN OUTDOOR GYM SIT?
If an outdoor training area is subsequently added to an existing gym, the equipment is of course based on the available area. This is where the operator can get creative. Whether inner courtyard, green areas or even part of the parking lot. Everything can be turned into a training area.

When planning a new one, it makes sense, of course, to set up the outdoor gym and the indoor training areas as a coherent concept.
